Tossing Out High Fat Foods

My first step toward healthy eating was to purge the pantry and forage the fridge for high fat versions. The kids and I eliminated some junk just by finishing it. However, I tossed the following:

Full fat sour cream, potato chips, ice cream, milk chocolate bar, full fat swiss and american cheeses, and 2% milk.

I noticed I wanted to "finish up" instead of "throw out " these offenders as well. As I held the sour cream, I thought, I could add this to something. But as soon as it hit the trash can, I felt relief.

In the past few weeks, I had stopped purchasing some high fat foods like doughnuts, eclairs, egg nog, french onion dip, cookies, bacon, sausage, and pork steaks.

I've thawed ground turkey for tonight's dinner of spaghetti, which is one I know the kids will eat. Dessert will be low fat frozen yogurt. We'll see if the kids can tell the difference.

Healthy eating to all, and to all a goodnight. DeAnne
