I find my KitchenAid Stand Mixer (Ole Bluey -yes, I've named my mixer) invaluable especially during the holiday baking season. I practically just throw ingredients into the mixing bowl, turn it on and I have cookie dough. Along with my KitchenAid mixer I have the ultimate in mixing paddles. It didn't come with the machine, but it's worth purchasing one. It's called the BeaterBlade by New MetroDesign LLC. It's like the flat paddle that comes with the mixer, but it has blades on it like windshield wipers. So I never ever have to scrape my bowl down while mixing. I'll admit I'm not a low fat baker, but I'm sure you could find something low fat to make with the mixer and blade.
