One of the pitfalls of low fat cooking and baking is that we can easily be lured into eating more of something just because it's low fat. This is a big mistake.
A. Just because there are low fat bars and cookies out there doesn’t mean we can get away with eating two or three of them at a time. Alas, low fat isn’t the same as low calorie. Many low fat treats are high in sugar, and sugar is just as culpable when it comes to weight gain and its associated health problems. So eat an occasional cookie or brownie during the holiday season, but aim for balance, and on some occasions choose fruit instead. My particular favorite during the holidays is the satsuma, which I can eat as readily as candy.
