Cook Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 small apples (I used Gala)
- 2 medium Bartlett pears
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
Preparation:
Peel and core apples and pears; cut into1-inch pieces and place in a large saucepan. Squeeze lemon juice over apple and pear cubes. Add apple juice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Bring to a boil on medium heat, then cover and simmer until apples and pears are tender, about 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool a little. Blend or mash with a potato masher until desired consistency.Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
