A simple and delicious late summer or fall dessert. Serve with a scoop of low fat frozen yogurt or a dollop of fat-free sour cream sweetened with a little brown sugar.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes


  • 1 1/2 pound red plums, pitted and sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup orange juice


Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Lay sliced plums in an 8-inch square baking dish. Combine sugar, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg and sprinkle over plums. Drizzle orange juice on top. Toss gently. Cover with foil and roast for 20 minutes.

Easy and just what I needed . . ., Member michellebrewer

Just received a list of eleven food intolerances this week, and was pretty bummed about what I could and couldn't eat. A neighbor dropped off some plums, and this recipe was perfect! I work with GFCF students and I'd totally make this again for our upcoming back-to-school picnic. It was also so easy to make. It even inspired me to make a ""butter""""cream"" frosting with some dairy-free replacements, ginger and cinnamon just to cool and sweeten it (I used pretty tart plums). It really hit the spot!
