If you're looking for a one-stop, low fat cookbook, the 700-page "New American Heart Association Cookbook (seventh edition)," affectionately known as "Big Red," may be the one. In addition to its 600 recipes - 150 of them new ones - it has appendixes that are chock-full of advice about how to change our eating habits, what to look for at the grocery store, how to read food labels, how to practice low fat cooking, and more. The one thing it lacks is photos, except for the back cover.
