Pumpkin Pie vs. Pecan Pie

Monday November 24, 2008
Pie is not exactly a low-fat option, but perhaps you like to treat yourself to a nice slice of pie at Thanksgiving, and there's nothing wrong in that, especially if you've made some smart swaps to some room for dessert. The question is, which pie should you choose: pecan pie or pumpkin pie?

Of course, there are other pies out there. Vote in my poll and tell me which one is your favorite.

I have a weakness for shortbread. This is not so good if you’re trying to eat low fat. I have an excuse, however. I was raised in England by Scottish parents, so you can see how hard it will be for me to resist making just a wee batch of shortbread biscuits offered by our guide to British food.

I voted for pecan. Sometimes my mouth gets a little bit bored after a couple of bites of pumpkin pie, but with pecan pie, there’s always something to bite into.

I voted for Pecan too. But, ideally, I’d have a sliver of both Pumpkin and Pecan, doused with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Man, I can’t wait til Thursday!
