Cranberry Apple Crisp

Friday November 21, 2008
If you're looking for a different kind of dessert for Thanksgiving instead of the usual pecan or pumpkin pie, why not try this sweet yet tart cranberry-apple crisp? Enjoy this crunchy, fruity delight with low fat custard sauce or a scoop of light ice cream or frozen yogurt.

Virtual Cookie Exchange

John Mitzewich, our guide to American food, offers a great cookie recipe where "America's favorite gourd meets America's favorite cookie" with these irresistible pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. They might not meet the low-fat bar, but perhaps one eeny-weeny cookie won't hurt. Alternatively, bake a batch and take them along to a holiday celebration as a thank you to your host.
