Get Your Dose of Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Tuesday August 5, 2008
You may be trying to eat low fat, but there are some fats you need to include in your diet, especially those found in fish. A new Finnish study published in the journal Neurology found that older people who consumed baked or broiled fish had a lower risk of developing lesions that can lead to memory loss and dementia. Omega 3 fatty acids, which are polyunsaturated fats found in fish, leafy greens, nuts and seeds, are also thought to protect against heart disease, macular degeneration, inflammation and diabetes. Consequently, omega 3 fatty acids are being added to almost everything from bread to yogurt. Find out more about omega 3 fatty acids.

My GOD people. I am assuming you are eating low fat to lose body fat, not just because it is trendy. And here we go with the low to no fat dieting while eating your fatty acids omega 3 crap. Let me tell you something. EAT WHAT YOU WANT! ANYTHING! Put butter on your pop corn. Buy ground chuck and eat it. Crab legs and you called it BUTTER. Ice cream, cookies, whole milk, doughnuts for breakfast and oreos after your pork sandwich at lunch. Eat ribs, cake, shrimp, cookie dough I DONT CARE WHAT YOU EAT as long as you follow every meal with about 5 oz. of castor oil. THERE YOU GO. THERE IS YOUR FATTY ACIDS. YUM. It will help blow all the things your body does not want out several times a day. Eat a multi-vitamin before bed after your last bowell movement and eat what you want during the day followed by “a dose of fatty acids” castor oil. I have been doing this for about 4 months and have lost 18 lbs. and I am right where I want to be, 95 pounds. I’m 5-4 37 years old, I look great I feel great and I eat what ever I want any time I want. I just follow every meal regardless of what is is with a small dose of “loaded up with omega 3 fatty acid” castor oil.

Nikki, if you are 5′4″ and 95 pounds, you should not be worrying about losing weight at all. You may want to think about whether you have annorexia or bulimia nervosa. If your BMI is under 17.5 you are running the rist of major health problems. You are damaging your body. Go to mypyramid.gov and learn how you can get back on track to a healthier lifestyle. The key to weight loss is to expend more calories than you take in, and by eating foods that are rich in nutrients and fiber. That does not mean starving yourself either! Happiness is self-discipline and moderation. Give it a try!

would this omega 3 thing be found in canned tuna? I eat tons of tuna but wanted to know if it has to be grilled fish or whatnot

Why not provide some suggestions or recipes. I suck at cooking fish and any suggestions would be helpful.

The best way to get your Omega-3 fatty acids is by eating the foods that contain them. Visit http://www.mypyramid.gov/pyramid/oils.html to learn more about foods that contain unsaturated fats. The benefit of these fats is that they can reduce your cholesterol when eaten with a nutritious diet (containing whole grains, fruits and vegetables). If you are eating a balanced diet, you are probably getting more omega-3’s than you think.
