10 Ways to Use Low Fat Yogurt

Wednesday July 2, 2008
Slash fat and calories by using low-fat yogurt in place of sour cream, cream, and mayonnaise in savory dishes. Use it in and on desserts, and in all kinds of other recipes, too. Fat-free yogurt can also be used in many recipes, especially if you use nonfat Greek yogurt, which is naturally thick and creamy, making it less likely to curdle in cooked dishes. I have a recipe using low fat yogurt that I make for me and my dogs. Peanut butter deviled eggs. I know this sounds funny but please read on. 10 boiled eggs cut in half. Throw away the yolk (bad). Mix 1/2 cup reduced fat peanut butter and 1/2 cup vanilla low fat yogurt (be patient it takes a while to blend). Fill the egg halves and we have a delicious healthy snack full of protein. These also are a big hit at the dog park.
ps funny. When my dogs pick up the scent of peanut butter they sit at attention silently watching my hands while I prepare this treat.

Sounds nasty, however I’ll try it. I love all ingrediants.
