Hi Fiona. I just wanted to share a little low fat recipe. I make these for my dogs but people can eat them too. I core a red apple then stuff it with brown sugar and margarine. Bake it 350 for 15 minutes. They get soft and sweet. Eat warm. If you are cooking for dogs chill them after cooking so the dogs won’t get burned. I took my dogs to the dog park Saturday and brought a cooler full for them and their 4 legged friends. After they played for a while I called a snack time and passed out the cooked apples. All the dogs enjoyed and the other dog owners were appreciative and I think some of them wished I brought enough for them too. Ha ha.
That sounds like so much fun bringing snacks for all the dogs at the park. For those of us who can not have children, pampering you pets is the next best thing. I can see all the dogs now lined up like little kids waiting excitedely for their snack LOL. Fiona, if you think about it their are probably more people who care about their pets health then they do their own health. So think about creating a menu for healty dog meals and treats, I am sure it would be a hit! My dogs certainly enjoyed your sausage and lentils recipe from a few weeks back.
Fiona, would you mind making a calfs liver recipe. My mother-in-law loves calfs liver
and is always ranting and raving about how healthy it is. Something about removing the liver from a calf before all the pestisides and hormones effect the liver. It’s supposed to be better for you then eating an adult cow liver. She is so sweet to us and helps us out a bunch so I would really like to “wow” her with a liver dish. She comes over from time to time and never seems to be satisfied with the food I prepare for my husband and her. It’s hard to watch her play with her food that I prepare for my family when she shows up unexpectedly around dinner time. She says she’s hungry and the next thing you know she has a head ache, then start talking about liver. Calfs liver is something she bring up frequently and I would love to have a calfs liver dish ready to whip up on a moments notice. This dish could go farther than one could imagine. Thanks so much!!!!
I know I’ve tried more than one of these recipes and they are just absolutely delicious.
