What Are Omega-3 Fatty Acids?

We now know that cutting fat indiscriminately may do more harm than good. The current thinking is that we should focus on choosing our fats wisely, shunning saturated fats and trans fats, and focusing our fat calories on unsaturated fats, which are thought to bestow a number of health benefits. In particular, much is being made of omega-3 fatty acids. We see many foods proudly touting the presence of omega-3s, from eggs to bread.
