Meet the Bad Fats Brothers

Thursday April 26, 2007
The American Heart Association has launched Face the Fats, a new campaign to help reduce saturated fats and trans fats in our diet.

The new campaign aims to make clear the distinction between good fats and bad, offering articles, quizzes, recipes from Alton Brown, and a nifty fats calculator to help us figure out how much of each kind of fat we should consume for our age, gender, height, weight, and level of activity. The AHA also introduces us to Sat and Trans, the animated "heart-breaking" Bad Fats Brothers, to add a fun element to the campaign.

The kicker? The campaign against trans fats is being funded by McDonald’s, as part of a 2005 class-action settlement against the fast-food company.
