The Chinese New Year

Sunday February 6, 2005
February 9th marks the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Rooster. If you’re not planning to visit your nearest city’s Chinatown to watch the festivities, you might like to stay home and try one of these low fat Asian-style meals instead: Baked Chicken Teriyaki, Asian Chicken Noodle Salad or Chicken and Asparagus Stir Fry, finishing with this citrus-based Winter Fruit Salad. Take a look at these low calorie recipes from About's Guide to Chinese Cuisine. She can also explain the symbolism behind the foods traditionally served during these celebrations. Happy New Year!
